The unit extends students’ understanding of the publishing industry and processes. It provides students with an understanding of how authors’ proposals for publication are reviewed by acquisitions editors and examines trends in publishing in Australia and internationally. It provides knowledge on topics and trends such as intellectual property and defamation law, production processes and new forms of publishing. Students work collaboratively to present a book or electronic publishing company and to showcase proposals for publication -- Course Website
