The unit aims to provide students with an understanding of the use of images and design principles in the context of the digital environments of multimedia and entertainment. This unit introduces the fundamentals of graphic design, including design processes, visual aesthetics, conceptual development and colour theory, as they are applied to issues of communication in electronic media. The principles and practice of interface design for new technologies will be introduced by way of practical projects and written assignments.
