This unit introduces students to the dynamic landscape of social work, both in its contemporary context and its development as a profession through time, space and place. The relationship between social work and social policy will be explored by looking at the historical development of social work, including the values and ethics of the profession and through an introduction to advocacy and community. -- Course Website
