This subject will allow students to gain knowledge of the theoretical principles and technology and clinical applications of the advanced imaging modalities of Computerised Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Ultrasound. Emphasis will be made on how the energies used in these imaging technologies are used to interact with the human body and form an image. Physical principles of image generation and visualisation. Sampling at different spatial, temporal and spectral resolutions. Data and image manipulation in both the spatial and frequency domains. Image degradation and manipulation/corrective processes. -- Course Website
