This unit will focus on one potential way to facilitate better sustainability outcomes through the implementation of deliberative democracy. Rather than being an alternative to our current system of representative democracy, it is proposed that deliberative democracy could significantly augment it by including the reasoned voice of inclusive, representative participants, engaged in deliberative dialogue, and empowered to influence decision-making.
