This unit looks at some of the central debates within the discourses over contemporary art, investigating both these debates and the art that it describes. Contemporary art is a term used to describe artworks made around the world since the 1960s. It is a utopian term as it aims to include all kinds of art produced in these times, and yet some of the art of this period has been more prominent than others.
