This is a core unit which introduces students to the 'research process' and research methods in relation to urban design. The unit considers the appropriateness and a range of research methodologies to various professional and academic circumstances.<br/><br/>Students gain the necessary skills to undertake their final year-long thesis. The final objective is the creation of a professional report on a particular issue or place as would befit professional practice. Where students are intending to continue through to the master's degree then the outcome is a literature review of an area of research.
