This unit deals with legislative, legal and professional association matters associated with working as a professional with mental health problems of young people, children, adults and older people. It addresses issues including working with reluctant and/or involuntary clients; roles and responsibilities in statutory practice when patients have a mental illness; grief and loss; concepts such as 'vicarious trauma'; working with antisocial personality presentations; the Mental Health Act 1996; and the National Mental Health Standards. -- Course Website
