This unit provides students with experience in the application of statistics in the real world. Each student enrolling in the practicum is placed with a host institution (involved in statistical consulting or applications of statistics in government or industry, e.g. in agriculture, economics, fisheries, mining or medicine) and is required to complete a statistical project negotiated between the host and academic supervisors; submit a written report of approximately 5000 words to the satisfaction of both supervisors; and may be asked to give a short presentation. -- Course Website
