This unit provides practical knowledge and basic research skills in relation to disease prevention in population health using the framework developed by the National Institute for Clinical Excellence. The four main themes in the unit are (1) environmental vectors (e.g. communicable diseases, occupational diseases, climatic and geophysical hazards); (2) social vectors (e.g. chronic, non-communicable diseases, lifestyle and genetic factors related to cardiovascular diseases, respiratory diseases and cancer); (3) organisational vectors (e.g. nosocomial infections, healthcare innovation, and access to health services by vulnerable groups ); and (4) population vectors (e.g. national and... -- Course Website
