This unit forms part of the Graduate Diploma in Neurological Rehabilitation which provides students with an opportunity to update theoretical knowledge and skills in the neurological rehabilitation of children with acquired central and peripheral neurological disorders. The main focus of the unit is on the efficacy of a number of physical therapeutic interventions and the evidence for neural plasticity occurring in response to these specific forms of training/activity. The interventions explored include, but are not limited to, 'forced use' paradigms, robotic assistance, mental practice and virtual reality training; and priming therapies such as non-invasive brain stimulation. -- Course Website
