This unit provides qualified students with experience of the role of research in the policy process. The major activity undertaken in the unit is a research internship in a host public sector or 'not for profit' organisation, (e.g. parliament, government department, local government organisation, interest group, community organisation). Students conduct and write up a short research project under the joint supervision of a representative of the host organisation and a member of staff in the Political Science and International Relations discipline. Students' work on the internship is supported by a series of workshops organised by the unit coordinator. -- Course Website
