This unit provides students with hands-on experience in field research with an explicit focus on geographical and planning problems. The unit requires students, working in small groups, to design a quantitative or qualitative field-based research project that can be conducted within a designated location. Students then undertake the research as part of a field excursion. The field work is followed by laboratory-based sessions on data analysis, presentation and report writing. -- Course Website
