This unit consists of the 26-lecture module Quantum Mechanics and the 18-lecture module Electrodynamics. Building on Level 2 Quantum Mechanics, in which the wave mechanics approach of Schroedinger was the key theme, students become familiar with the matrix mechanics approach to Quantum Mechanics as formulated by Heisenberg and developed further by Dirac. In Electrodynamics, the electromagnetic theory of waves is introduced in the context of Maxwell's equations, with an introduction to special relativity in electrodynamics. -- Course Website
