This unit is taken over two successive semesters and parts 1 and 2 must be completed sequentially to fulfil the requirements of the unit.<br/><br/>The unit provides students with the knowledge and skills in the application of advanced hearing device technology. Topics include nonlinear and programmable hearing aids, compression, selection programs for multiple memory hearing aids and product comparison. The unit also covers selection, evaluation and training in devices for the profoundly deaf adult, including cochlear implants, tactile aids and assistive listening devices. -- Course Website
