Knowledge-based—this unit provides a broad overview of techniques of gross dissection in various subspecialties in anatomical pathology and introduces students to day-to-day grossing activities in surgical pathology laboratory. The lectures focus on understanding of basic pathology and anatomy required for specimen identification, preparation, description, dissection, sampling and triage of non-complex tissue samples removed for diagnosis.
