This unit includes lectures on haemopoiesis (how cells of the immune system develop and differentiate), T-cells and cytokines (how the immune system is regulated) and autoreactivity (immune responses to self proteins) in health and disease. Students are taught by physicians involved in the diagnosis and treatment of these conditions, and by scientists engaged in research into disease pathogenesis. The unit is suitable for students interested in a career in clinical diagnostic laboratories or biomedical research. -- Course Website
