This unit focuses on complex problems relating to human disease. Students are taught by medical practitioners involved in the diagnosis and treatment of these conditions, and by physician/scientists and scientists engaged in research into disease pathogenesis. The unit includes practical sessions that demonstrate multidisiplinary approaches to research questions and laboratory diagnostic scenarios in areas releted to current work performed in Perth. Students apply scientific knowledge and techniques, and engage in scientific problem-solving.
