This unit provides an introduction to the scientific basis of human diseases, including normal and abnormal responses to environmental and infectious insults. Students participate in practical classes that demonstrate laboratory diagnostic techniques used to assess human disease and research methods that contribute to understanding of disease pathogenesis.
