This unit examines, from a psychological perspective, why and how people develop musically, tracing a broad range of individuals over the life span—infants, children and seniors. Using residential teaching and distance learning readings with self-assessing and self-reflecting unit materials, students develop theoretical knowledge and apply it to practical situations. One assessed 2500-word essay demonstrates reflective critical knowledge, especially in responding to methodological issues in the domain. -- Course Website
