This unit teaches students how to develop research ideas and write research proposals, grants and ethics committee applications, and how to communicate research findings. Topics include philosophy of science; hypothesis generation; generating a research idea; research proposal development; application for ethics committee approval; grant procedures; informed consent, privacy and confidentiality; recruitment of research subjects; responsible conduct of research; communicating research findings clearly; preparing abstracts; writing research papers; developing graphics for presentations and basic research statistical analysis. -- Course Website
