This is a project-based unit that enables students to work on a project of their choice under supervision. The skills learned are essential for a future engineering career and include problem identification, synthesis of solutions, information search and analysis, logic and creative thinking, development of abstract concepts and testing ideas, project management, oral and written communication, time management and teamwork. Most engineers spend years working on projects and taking responsibility for larger ones as their management skills improve.
