Algebra encompasses many areas of pure mathematics such as groups, rings, fields, modules, semigroups and Lie algebras. It can also refer to areas of combinatorics such as projective geometry and graph theory. This unit covers at least one of these subjects, changing from year to year, depending on student demand and lecturer availability.
