This unit involves a study of the fundamental principles and institutions of government at the state and Commonwealth levels within the Australian historical and political context. The unit seeks to impart an understanding of fundamental constitutional principles such as representative and responsible government and the powers of, and relationships between, the institutions of government—the legislature, the executive and the judiciary—at the state and Commonwealth levels. -- Course Website
