Administrative law concerns the principles and procedures by which the decisions of government agencies and public officials are challenged and supervised. Students have previously studied constitutional law which focuses principally on the validity of legislation. Administrative law focuses on the validity and appropriateness of executive actions taken under legislation (or indeed in the exercise of prerogative powers) especially insofar as they affect the rights and interests of individuals. This unit examines what many consider to be the core principles in the field—the 'grounds' of judicial review. -- Course Website
