This unit is an introduction to the law of trusts. The unit aims to introduce students to the nature and the essential characteristics of the trust and the usefulness of the trust in society. An understanding of trusts is important for many areas of legal practice, including property law, wills and estate planning, taxation, family law, company law, insolvency and financial services (e.g. investment, superannuation and banking).
