This unit examines the special principles of liability that relate to negligence actions for pure economic loss and pure mental harm (often called nervous shock or psychiatric injury); and the rules relating to vicarious liability and non-delegable duties, which determine whether someone other than the individual tortfeasor is a potential defendant. The unit also considers a representative selection of other torts including intentional torts to the person, nuisance and defamation. -- Course Website
