This unit provides an introduction to the language and culture of Korea, giving students the confidence to visit the country and communicate with Koreans on basic everyday language topics. No previous knowledge of Korea or Korean is required. The unit develops intercultural communication skills as well as confidence in listening, speaking, reading and writing Korean. It provides a good basis for an appreciation of Korean culture and understanding of Korean society. The unit is useful for broadening students' international outlook. Successful completion of the unit brings students to the ISLPR Level 1. -- Course Website
