This unit is taken over two semesters and parts 1 and 2 must be completed to fulfil the requirements of the unit.<br/><br/>A comprehensive orientation to working in the field of obstetrics, gynaecology and newborn medicine takes place in the first week of term. The academic timetable is centred on small group learning. These learning sessions are supported by interactive seminars, fixed resource sessions, reflective tutorials and clinical skills workshops. During the 10-week clerkship based at King Edward Memorial Hospital, students obtain clinical experience through the management of both inpatients and outpatients, working in theatres, the emergency centre and delivery ward.
