This unit develops an integrated understanding of the psychological concepts that may be associated with health and healing behaviours. In particular, the unit considers that, at least to an extent, an individual’s health issues should be considered with respect to their environment (internal, social and special), current life context, and with respect to their life history; that under some conditions patients’ physical and mental health may improve as a result of purely psychological interventions; and that treatment, healing and curing are not necessarily aimed at achieving the same end. <br/><br/>During the first half of the semester, students are introduced to psychological theory and... -- Course Website
