In this 'hands-on' unit, students enhance their skills in effectively finding and working with a range of historical source materials. In seminars and workshops students become familiar with some of the key practical and theoretical issues and debates relating to the use of various sources (including photographs and film, archives, oral history and material culture). Strategies and tools for planning and managing research are also discussed. The skills in finding, analysing and managing information that are developed in this unit are required for advanced-level historical research, but are also highly transferable to many workplace situations. Some workshops are held off-campus.... -- Course Website
