The aim of this unit as well as its precursor unit, GRMN4140 Dissertation (German Studies) 1 is for students to develop, research and write a dissertation of 10,000 to 12,000 words (in German) or 13,000 to 15,000 words (in English) on a topic of their own devising. Students work under the supervision of a full-time academic staff member, who guides and advises them in their formulation of an appropriate research topic and in the execution of the research, and who provides constructive feedback on the draft sections of the dissertation, and on the documentation and bibliography. -- Course Website
