Earth's surface and near-surface environments are dynamic and sometimes fragile systems, characterised by complex interactions of physical, chemical and biological processes. Critically, people also inhabit this domain, and impact on natural systems through the exploitation of resources such as groundwater and soils, and the modification of environments through imposition of the physical and chemical consequences of our lifestyles and economic activities. Geoscience knowledge is fundamental to understanding how these surface environments operate, how we influence our environment and are in turn impacted upon by natural processes and resource limitations, how surface environments have... -- Course Website
