This unit reviews the principles of extraction of metals from their ores. The objective is to extend knowledge in engineering of ore processing and selecting criteria to optimise and improve metallurgical processes. By learning extractive metallurgy principles, students are able to participate in operations, design, research and development of the processes for ore beneficiation and metal extraction. This unit is created in order to extend knowledge in engineering of ore processing and selecting criteria to optimise and improve metallurgical processes. Topics like thermochemistry, chemical equilibrium, kinetics and mechanism of metallurgical reactions and systems, minerals processing... -- Course Website
