This unit provides an introduction to Australian banking. It also explores issues relating to international banking and current developments in the international banking arena. Topics include bank risk management; asset and liability structures; securitisation; bank performance analysis, and the impact of cost of funds and capital adequacy provisions on bank-lending policies. A consistent theme is that the functions and services provided by banks are influenced by the theory of finance, technology, government regulation and the forces of competition. -- Course Website
