The aim of this unit is to gain a detailed understanding of water resources allocation, water and wastewater treatment and water re-use. Topics covered include distribution of water resources worldwide and pressures and threats from population growth and climate change; identification of trans-boundary issues in water resource management and general principles for mitigating these issues; design and management of sustainable water resource allocation, use and re-use; optimisation of water allocation in irrigation; design of efficient drainage schemes, including environmental impact appraisal; the characterisation of constituents found in wastewater, both in terms of range and detection... -- Course Website
