Students are introduced to each step of the investigative process, starting from asking a scientific and sound question, developing a sampling strategy, collecting and analysing the data, testing the hypothesis, interpreting the data and eventually drawing one or more conclusions/recommendations. Students are also asked to use these basic principles in a semester-long project that investigates a specific question of their choice. Lectures cover some of the basic statistical background likely to be used in experimental design and a large range of environmental studies. Students are expected to attend a field trip, usually a day and a night. -- Course Website
