This unit consists of the following topics: feedback systems and control—feedback in systems, block diagrams, signal flow graphs; transient, error and stability analysis of closed-loop systems; Routh-Hurwitz stability criterion, root locus plots, PID controllers, basic compensation techniques; introduction to Bode plots; analogue and digital filter design—high pass, low pass, and band pass filters; frequency transformations; classic filters: Butterworth and Chebyshev approximations; passive and active analogue filter realisations; infinite impulse response and finite impulse response digital filters; design of digital filters: transformation and window methods. -- Course Website
