This unit can be taken full-time or part-time. A written research proposal must be submitted with the consent of the supervisors to the Faculty of Education Research Committee. The proposal must be presented orally to a research panel convened by the supervisors. The final proposal must be approved by the Human Rights and Ethics Committee before data collection can proceed. The thesis for the Doctor of Education is normally presented in typescript format. It should provide a comprehensive study of the topic under consideration and make a substantial and original contribution to knowledge.
