This unit focuses on the arts (visual arts, drama, music, dance and media) as ways of learning and knowing across the range of curriculum areas in secondary education. It acknowledges the special role that the arts play in everyday adolescent motivation, communciation, regulation, representation and identification. The unit enables preservice secondary teachers of all disciplines to mobilise artistic engagement for effective learning.
