Students examine concepts of language development and the components of language and a range of key literacy teaching practices including strategies for teaching reading and writing, speaking and listening; learn about key foundational skills such as phonological awareness and phonics knowledge; and explore a range of texts that are important in early childhood literacy learning contexts including children's literature, informational texts, multimedia texts, rhymes and songs. -- Course Website
