This unit develops skills and understanding in school psychology so students are ready to work relatively independently in a variety of professional tasks. Students develop sensitivity to the needs and characteristics of children, adolescents, parents and colleagues, both as individuals and in groups; develop knowledge and skills relevant to school psychology; develop an awareness of their professional attitudes; and undertake self-appraisal of their professional performance. Topics include managing critical incidents, behaviour (externalising and internalising), aggression, learning problems and social development. -- Course Website
