Students undertake an extended practicum of nine weeks from approximately August to November (this period includes two weeks of school vacation). <br/><br/>Students teach lower secondary classes in their major and minor curriculum areas and, if appropriate, classes in Years 11 and 12 in their major. <br/><br/>While students have the support of a mentor teacher, a high level of commitment, independence and competence is expected of students at this stage of their pre-service education. Pre-service teachers are encouraged to participate in, and contribute to, the life of the school beyond their learning area. -- Course Website
