This unit of study provides an analytical framework for studying a range of topics in applied microeconomics. Topics covered are selected from the economics of labour markets, health care, health policy and management, the economics of competition policy, productivity and monopoly regulation, the economics of housing markets and environmental policy and resource valuation. The unit builds on the theoretical tools studied in intermediate microeconomics to analyse the behaviour of agents in the economic system. It introduces the student to the relevant methods and demonstrate how these methods can be applied to analyse issues in policy and management. -- Course Website
