This unit examines the global economic and financial system within which modern businesses operate. The unit commences with a review of the evolution of international economic and financial institutions. It continues with an examination of current global economic and financial issues such as exchange rate systems, international financial flows, global financial markets, financial crises, currency crises, asset bubbles, optimal currency areas, and financial institutions around the world.
