This unit is designed to provide a strong grounding in the content of key policy areas journalists encounter daily. It examines the political structures of western democracies, emerging new democracies and the functionality of political regimes yet to embrace democracy. The nature and particulars of business dealings and how these fit within the political economies of nation-states are analysed. Macro and micro economic issues are covered. Importantly, core policy areas are juxtaposed against the role of the working journalist. -- Course Website
