This unit is compulsory for all students taking any major in Chemistry, except those who take CHEM2210 Structure Determination and Physical Chemistry and CHEM2221 Biological and Medicinal Chemistry in combination with BIOC2201 Biochemistry of the Cell and BIOC2202 Biochemical Regulation of Cell Function. The unit covers many of the fundamental and important principles of inorganic and organic chemistry, with an emphasis on key methods for the synthesis of molecules.
