This unit provides an advanced-level introduction to research methodology in the field of Zoology. Students work in groups and learn to devise a research question from the relevant literature; source materials and equipment required using the formal protocols of the School of Animal Biology; write an Animal Ethics Application, where appropriate; carry out an experimental methodology in Zoology (field- or laboratory-based); analyse data; and report on results both in an oral setting and in written form.
