This unit explores how sites are interpreted and conserved in archaeology in various settings (maritime, riverine, terrestrial, Indigenous, and historical) from an Australian perspective. The first half of the unit considers interpretation, covering presentation of results, statistical analyses, quantitative versus qualitative data, as well as the role of theory in interpretation. The second half of the unit considers how site and materials conservation is important to archaeologists. -- Course Website
