This unit explores the application of anthropological and sociological expertise to pressing social issues. Specific topics change yearly and reflect staff expertise on topics including (but not limited to) native title, cultural heritage, development, environmental conservation, migration, education and global health. As a result students get an intense engagement with how academics develop analysis about urgent social problems. Through this unit students develop analytical and practical skills to transfer academic knowledge to contemporary issues faced by citizens living in an increasingly globalised world. -- Course Website
